Troubleshooting Meeting Quality

Use this page to diagnose common meeting-experience issues in SITE Ray.

Corporate Firewall Policies Issues

Corporate firewall policies can degrade the meeting experience when they prevent direct connections to the SITE Ray Media Server. In that case, traffic may be relayed through a TURN server.

To improve the meeting path:

  1. Ask the IT team to review firewall policies that affect direct connections to the SITE Ray Media Server.
  2. Allow the SITE Ray Media Server IP and port range:

    Requirement Value
SITE Ray Media Server IP 176.105.148.218
    Port range 20000-50000 UDP/TCP

Bandwidth and Network Requirements

Limited internet bandwidth can cause lag, buffering, and poor audio or video quality.

Recommended actions:

  • Close unnecessary applications or browser tabs that consume bandwidth.
  • Upgrade to a higher-bandwidth internet plan if feasible.
  • Prioritize video and audio traffic with Quality of Service settings if available on the network.

High CPU Utilization

High CPU utilization can affect meeting performance and overall quality.

Recommended actions:

  • Check for background processes or applications consuming excessive CPU resources.
  • Close unnecessary processes where possible.
  • Upgrade hardware if needed to handle meeting demands.

Unidentified Issues

If the meeting experience is degraded and the cause is not clear:

  1. Check for recent changes to the system, network, or software.
  2. Test the meeting experience on different devices or networks to isolate the issue.
  3. Contact technical support or the internal IT department for assistance.
