Managing VM Network Interfaces

Virtual machine network interfaces, also called vNICs, connect a VM to a subnet and IP address. Use the Networks tab on a VM details page to add or remove interfaces.

Network Interfaces

A VM must have at least one network interface. Additional interfaces can be added when the VM needs connectivity to another subnet or IP address.

Adding a Network Interface

  1. Open the VM you want to modify.
  2. Open the Networks tab.
  3. Click Add interface.
  4. Select the subnet.
  5. Select the desired IP address.

Note

If no IP addresses are available, allocate a new private IP before adding the interface.

Deleting a Network Interface

  1. Open the VM you want to modify.
  2. Open the Networks tab.
  3. Highlight the interface you want to remove.
  4. Click the delete icon.

Warning

A VM must keep at least one network interface.
